The optimum learning segment is a twenty minute period of time. After twenty minutes the brain becomes fatigued and needs at least a five minute downtime to prepare for the second and less productive learning segment that should not exceed fifteen minutes.

Research
The Functional MRI (fMRI) has proven to be an efficient, non-intrusive way to study activity in the brain. This scanning technique can produce images showing the slightest changes in brain activity. So now, when a client reads, for example, the fMRI can show us the exact area(s) in the brain processing the actions.
The Decade of the Brain was the name given to the 1990’s when technology reached a point where researchers could investigate the brain with more accuracy and less speculation.
Prior to advances in technology such as CT (computerized tomography), PET Positron-emission tomography), MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging), and fMRI (Functional magnetic resonance imaging), researchers relied on observation of outside behavior, results from brain surgeries, and qualified guessing.
We now know, through the work of neuroscience, how the brain learns. We know more about the exact development of the brain over the course of years. We know how antagonistic situations affect that learning. It’s time to teach in the fashion that motivates and excites the brain – to stimulate the brain to wonder and discover and to become a better problem solver and energetic survivor in the world around us.
Here are some of the things you will learn about when you register for coursework on how the brain learns with ARKUR:
| • the physical brain development |
• transfer |
| • processing information |
• special areas of learning |
| • memory |
• the arts |
| • self-concept |
• critical thinking skills |
| • attention and retention |
• more and more and more... |
| • sense and meaning |
|
Why is this important to you?
- knowing how the brain learns naturally will enrich your life!
- reactions of people with whom you are speaking/working will be changed for the better
- discipline problems disappear as you implement these techniques in all areas of your life
- your personal learning (and the learning of others) will take on new meaning and enhancement
- your long term memory (and the memory of others) will drastically improve
- your problem solving skills (and the skills of others) will drastically improve
- and on, and on, and on!
